At dinner I broke out in a sweat and had to get extra napkins. Now that I'm eating it for breakfast it does not seem so spicy or I am just used to it now. My tofu seafood soup was almost too spicy to eat. Menu has tiny print and tough to read, pay close attention to the # of hot peppers printed on the tiny picture!! Its spicy. The egg-seafood pancake in the picture is an appatizer! It's a meal! Soup is literally still boiling in the cast iron bowl. I'm eating the left overs for breakfast as I write this. Would I go here again? Probably not knowing there are better Korean places in the area.Last time I eat good Korean food was with my friend Scott Kim 25 years ago in San Diego. Ask for refills if you want them (you probably will), it will make the meal better. I like the interior, I think they are still working on things. The restaurant is small, so going with more than 6 people for a sit down may result in a bit of a wait. This made the meal less enjoyable, especially with the spicy food (any palate cleanser would have been nice). Sadly, this is one of the only restaurants I've been to where there were no refills (which were much needed with different flavors and levels of heat). The server sort of passed my 'recommendation' test, even though the dish she recommended had the equivalent of one hot dog cut up amidst spam, kimchi and a lone dumpling (does it get more authentic)? The dish was spicy, which she warned me about-it wasn't bad. If you want authentic Korean food, come here. I thought the prices were a bit high for certain things ($15 for teriyaki chicken, par grilled, rubbery, nothing special). The food was authentic and delicious no doubt. I guess you have to ask for water and refills. The meal started off great with delicious barley tea. I went there on a Friday night, it wasn't too busy. I was prepared to pay for it but the owner would not take any money for it - good customer service!!! So - if they can get the intermediary online ordering service straightened out, I would definitely give a 5-star because THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL! In fact, I ordered another order of the fried dumplings because the one I had before coming back to get the rest of the order was so good. She apologized profusely and I assured her I understood and was not upset. When we went back, the owner showed us the order form and it was clear that my order (as I submitted it) was in small print at the bottom of the form but when the site transferred it to larger print it omitted a portion of it - not the owner’s fault. When we got it home only part of our order was in the bag. The dumplings reminded me of exactly what I used to order from street vendors in Korea - it was all very, very good!! The negative - We ordered online and when we arrived the food was ready. All of the food was prepared very well and was flavorful. It took me back to my time in Korea with the aroma and the taste.
