It may be this happens after I have used the Powerbook, but that's not for sure. Normally, if I try to restart the Mac it will hang. Unfortunately it doesn't take two minutes, it goes on as long as you would leave it, and at times, if I try to work with the flag still up it causes the computer to crash. Not sure exactly when it started (I got the G5 in September) but sometimes when I turn on the G5 in 10.4.11 mode, a small M Audio flag appears bottom left announcing that it is updating firmware, which will take about two minutes, and gives the GUI of D6C0410FDEA5A (not sure if those are O or 0). A LaCie 1TB is attached to the Powerbook by normal firewire and to the G5 by 800 firewire, and the 1814 is in the chain with the LaCie. This has to run both 10.4.11 (because I have to run some classic applications), and, to be slightly more modern, 10.5.8, from different internal drives.

I have now added an old (same age as the PB) Mac Pro Dual 2.7 GHz G5.

My Pan light is always on as well, not sure if that means anything?įor 7 years I have used my Firewire 1814 as firewire interface with a Powerbook running 10.4.11 and Logic 7, with few if any problems. The fix for that is.go to setup, MIDI input Enable and select the ProjectMix Control Surface MIDI and it will restore that function. I have found a few forum entries that have had simular problems however, they have had problems getting the peripherals to see a receive from assignment.

Is there a test that can be ran to rule out all my faders been bad? I have read the manual up and down and I can not find what I am doing wrong. I can use my transport functions, and I have been successful recording a live track, however, in all cases the faders are non-responsive. I can move the assignable encorders and because they seem to be fixed on pan, that will work. I loaded the demo and it has fader movement and my projectMix doesn't function. The problem I am having with my unit is my fader controls are not moving or communicating with protools.

I was able to update the drivers for the ProjectMix because I purchased the floor model from GC and they didn't have anything but the unit ( no power cable, firewire cable, etc.). I purchase my ProjectMix controller almost a year ago and am just getting around to getting my system ready for protools. I just installed Protools 10 on a 64 bit Windows 7 system with 8 gb of memory and 2 tb of harddrive space.
